The Multiple Standards of Cheyne
Building a Strong Foundation
Before expanding into multiple industries, Cheyne earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts with focuses in Business Administration and Communications, followed by a Master's degree in Sports Administration, from the University of New Mexico. His education provided an additional foundation for the work he continues to build today.
A Foundation Built on Service
In 2025, Cheyne designed and built his own mobile barbershop entirely by hand — a first-of-its-kind luxury service on wheels and the only mobile barbershop in the state of New Mexico. Built to bring a premium experience directly to clients wherever they are, and to reach people who might not otherwise have easy access to a professional cut, the mobile shop is a living expression of everything he stands for: craftsmanship, independence, and using what you have built to serve others well.
Innovation Through Craftsmanship
Since 2022, Cheyne has also practiced scalp micropigmentation as a licensed cosmetic tattoo artist — one of the most specialized and transformative services in the industry. SMP sits at the intersection of artistry, precision, and confidence restoration, and it reflects the same philosophy that runs through every service he offers: give people something that makes them feel whole.
The Art of Transformation
For over a decade, Cheyne has worked as a professional photographer — an eye for detail and composition that shapes everything from how he approaches a client's look to how he builds a brand. His visual instincts run through every aspect of The Industry Standard.

Why The Industry Standard Exists
But what drives Cheyne more than any single skill or business is the desire to give back. He believes that knowledge only counts when it is shared — and that the lessons learned through years of building, failing, adjusting, and growing belong to more than just the person who lived them. The Industry Standard course exists because of that belief. Every week of curriculum, every framework, every reflection question was written by someone who has been in the chair, behind the needle, behind the camera, and in the community — and who wants the same for you.
Cheyne's work in the community goes beyond business. Giving back through his barbershop — blessing others as he has been blessed, and inviting the community to do the same — is not a side note to his career. It is the point of it. Because it has always been more than a haircut.
If you are in this course, you are not just learning from a teacher. You are learning from someone who is still building — and who built this curriculum so you do not have to figure it out alone.
